Scholarships Available
There are many scholarships available for our seniors as they apply for college. Outside my office on the first floor of Baepler is a large bulletin board, kept updated constantly, with scholarship and college information. Many more scholarship applications are available on-line and require some research on the part of the student and parents.

When your son or daughter needs recommendations from the principal or teachers, encourage your student(s) to allow at least a week for completion when requesting these recommendations for college admissions and scholarships When requesting recommendations, students are asked to submit a request in writing along with the necessary forms. In addition, to maximize support in recommendations being written for your son or daughter, please submit in writing a chart of the students activites and awards for use by the individual writing the recommendation. Rushed or vague recommendations do little to support the student.

FAFSA
Free Application for Federal Student Aid

If you are applying for college aid, you should file your FAFSA as soon as possible in February. Filing the FAFSA report will alert you of eligibility status for your son or daughter regarding the Pell Grant. Plesea schedule an appointment with guidance for any questions you may have pertaining this or seek additional information at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You may complete the FAFSA report on-line or you may download the FAFSA report, go to www.fsa4schools.ed.gov/counselors. The FAFSA is available online after January 1 each year. All students applying for college or university must complete the FAFSA in a timely manner. Some institutions will also require tax transcripts. States have varying deadline dates.

Scholarships Received

At the awards banquet in May, we recognize the various scholarships and awards received by our students. To do this in an orderly manner, I am requesting either the students or their parent send me a copy of the awards and scholarships as you receive them. Please send only copies. I will include all awards and scholarships received by May 5 in either the program or as a presentation at the banquet.
