Why Saint Paul?
Are you asking yourself this question? The answer is multi-faceted and each person’s answer is as individual and personal as the person responding.
In order to fully answer the question “Why Saint Paul?” with confidence and assurance I went into the halls this morning and asked students, “Why Saint Paul?” Here’s what the Saints shared:
“I just love it here; it’s a great atmosphere for me; it’s home!”
“It was a family thing. It felt familiar. I like it because of the atmosphere; it is very personal and people talk to you. It’s a well-rounded school, both spiritually and physically.”
“All my friends are here! People ask about you, they acknowledge you – you are never ignored. Someone is always there to help you, no matter what – they care. Teachers, staff, friends – they care.”
“Besides the obvious, Lutheran environment, good education, small school with lots of diversity… it’s home now.”
“All my family went here and I wanted a Christian education. My brothers had really close friends and I wanted that! I wanted a safe environment where I didn’t have to worry. I wanted Saint Paul.”
“It’s our home, a place where we can all come together – different cultures and be friends. Saint Paul is a loving atmosphere. The teachers and staff all support us and they are there for us 24/7. The education is great – it’s home.”
“I wouldn’t go anywhere else! My friends are here, it’s friendly and welcoming. Teachers and staff take time for you – they help you. It’s safe. It’s a really good place to grow.”
“It’s a challenge to your faith but at the same time Saint Paul is a place where your faith can grow. Leave home – sounds strange, but you are closer to your parents when you come here. It’s worth it. My kids will be here. I trust Saint Paul. Dorm students especially are prepared for life. Going off to college – I’m ready. I can do it! My sister is in 8th grade and she wants to come here more than anything else in the world!”
“Helps get me prepared for college and be closer to Jesus.”
“Close knit community. Although everyone knows everything about you – you are part of the family.”
“Beautiful campus. There were people from my country going to school here and from many other countries. Friendly teachers and classmates.”
“Surrounded by people of my own faith.”
“Better education in the U.S. At Saint Paul, they focus on the student. We have smaller classes and advisors.”
“Last year my parents made the decision for me to come to Saint Paul – this year, it was my choice to be here. My dorm is where my ‘sister’s’ are.”
I asked our Head of School, Rev. Paul Mehl, “Why Saint Paul?” His response: “We prepare leaders to declare Christ. Three things: academics, spirituality, peer groups. Christian education, better academics, surrounded by a Christian peer group, that’s Saint Paul.”
So, I say “Why Saint Paul?” Why not! Saint Paul is a place where you are encouraged to use your God-given gifts and talents, to explore the world around you, to be challenged, nurtured and to grow in your faith.
Don’t get left out – become a Saint today!
